The Diploma, Foundation & Catholicism Made Simple Course
all have a section on Mary, Mother of God
A MOMENT WITH MARY
Jesus is the master storyteller. He speaks about the Kingdom of Heaven using stories.
He probably heard a lot of good tales as a child – at the knees of Mary.
Like all good parents,
Mary held the child Jesus close to her as she told him the story of God’s love for his people.
Like Mary, it is good to tell our children of God’s love for them.
It’s also good to let them know that they are loved and cared for too.
Good storytelling is a vitally important part of a child’s early life.
It is far too important to be left just to teachers.
So today, hold your children close to you and tell them the story of God’s love for his people.
Let them know how much they are loved and cared for.
In this way, they will grow up to be great storytellers;
they will grow up to recognize their true worth to the world … and they’ll pass the message on.
Prayers to Mary
Remember, O most loving Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that anyone
who fled to your protection,
implored your help,
or sought your intercession was left unaided.
Inspired with this confidence, we turn to you,
O Virgin of virgins, our Mother.
To you we come, before you we stand,
sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
do not despise our petitions,
but in your mercy hear us and answer us.
Hail Holy Queen
Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy,
our life, our sweetness and our hope!
To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve;
to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping
in this valley of tears.
Turn then, most gracious advocate,
thine eyes of mercy toward us,
and after this our exile,
show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary!
Prayers of Fatima
“O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell,
and lead all souls to Heaven, especially those in most need of Your Mercy”.
“My God, I believe, I adore, I hope, and I love You.
I beg pardon of You for those who do not believe,
do not adore, do not hope, and do not love You.”
